PureVPN is most useful to assess through a specific requirement: concurrent devices, an app-routing rule or an optional networking feature. Its support material documents those areas, but some pages contain qualifications or conflicting counts. A good purchase decision keeps those limits visible instead of treating every advertised add-on as a necessary security upgrade.

This source-based review uses current provider documentation and an original buying worksheet. VPNBlade has not installed PureVPN, measured speed, tested streaming services or checked its behavior with malware or simulated failures. No performance score or personal-use claim is implied.

Start with the account and device allowance

PureVPN’s device article, updated 6 February 2026, states that one account can connect 10 devices concurrently while allowing installation on more devices. A separate multi-account article adds same-country wording and says a Mobile Account does not have multi-login. Confirm the actual product you are purchasing rather than applying the general allowance to every account type.

Write a list of the connections you normally use together. Distinguish a phone left connected in a bag from a laptop that is powered off. If you need use across several countries at once or are considering a mobile-specific offer, obtain clarification for that account before paying. Do not assume an installation allowance resolves those conditions.

Routing controls differ by platform

The split-tunneling guide documents Windows and Android, with additional Android TV and Firestick sections despite the narrower introductory wording. On Windows, its instructions route selected applications through the VPN and warn that all relevant processes may need adding. Android describes both including only selected apps and excluding selected apps.

That is not evidence for identical Mac or iOS controls. If routing one application is essential, compare your actual operating system and app edition with the current instructions. Our split-tunneling guide explains the general trade-off without turning a feature label into an all-device guarantee.

Questions to settle about PureVPN routing
Your intended task Documented detail to check A common mistake
Route a Windows program through the VPN The selected-app workflow and all associated processes Assuming the visible main process covers every component
Exclude an Android app Whether the chosen mode includes or bypasses selected apps Treating a checked box as universally meaning “protected”
Use a television app The instructions for that exact TV platform Copying a phone menu into a different interface
Use another operating system A current feature-specific support page Inferring routing controls from a general app download listing

Keep a short note of exclusions you create and why you need them. That record helps when an app later behaves unexpectedly. On an employer-managed device, follow the organization’s connection policy rather than replacing an approved arrangement with a personal subscription.

Port forwarding and Dedicated IP are separate decisions

PureVPN identifies Port Forwarding and Dedicated IP as paid add-ons. Its documentation describes Dedicated IP as an address assigned to a particular customer, with separate device and configuration conditions. Neither add-on should be purchased merely because it appears beside the base VPN on an order page.

The port-forwarding page has a material inconsistency: the headline and body disagree about the number of ports and supported locations. We do not select a number to present as settled. The instructions instead give a practical selection aid: look for the PF marker or filter and confirm the required location and configuration with support.

If inbound connectivity is the requirement, ask whether the proposed plan and add-on actually support your application, device and chosen location. Do not open extra access just to make a troubleshooting warning disappear. A routing capability is a tool for a defined task, not evidence that every connection becomes more secure.

Our router setup guide explains the wider configuration questions. A compatible router route and an application running directly on a computer can involve different instructions, so do not mix their account or configuration details.

No activity logs does not mean no account information

PureVPN’s published policy says it does not retain the specified activity and identifiable connection logs. It also describes account details, connection-day and ISP information, bandwidth totals, software analytics and support correspondence. The policy notes additional distinctions for optional features: its Tracker and Ad Blocker can see domains during connection, and a Dedicated IP assignment remains recorded for 25 days after the subscription ends.

These are provider statements, not an independent audit result. The important buying question is which services you enable and which data practices apply to them. A base-VPN slogan should not replace reading the terms for an optional feature.

A connected VPN does not make a logged-in website account anonymous. It also does not remove harmful software from a device. Read our VPN versus device-protection explanation if a bundle’s long feature list is obscuring which component performs which job.

Pros and cons for a documented use case

Reasons to consider it

  • The ordinary account’s documented 10-connection allowance gives a concrete starting point for household planning.
  • Current Windows and Android routing instructions describe the direction of selected-app rules.
  • Separate paid networking add-ons can be investigated for a specific requirement.
  • The refund policy identifies initial-purchase and renewal distinctions before you commit.

Reasons to pause or compare alternatives

  • Account-type and same-country wording need clarification for some multi-device arrangements.
  • Port-forwarding numeric claims conflict within the documentation.
  • Platform-specific routing cannot be assumed to exist on every app.
  • Optional features can change both the price and the relevant privacy conditions.

Use these as fit considerations rather than a ranking. The existing PureVPN versus CyberGhost comparison remains a separate head-to-head article; this review focuses on assessing one service’s supported purchase options.

Read the refund exclusions before choosing a term

PureVPN’s current policy describes a 31-day refund window for eligible initial purchases, excluding renewal payments. It says trial-based renewals are non-refundable and identifies Coinpayment, Apple and Google store payments as excluded from its refund option. Special-purpose accounts also have exceptions. These conditions are more specific than the headline’s “no questions asked” wording.

Do not interpret a trial label as permission to ignore the next charge. Record the seller, end of the initial period, renewal amount and cancellation route. If a condition is unclear, ask before subscribing rather than relying on a historical coupon article.

Record What should be clear before purchase
Account type and intended locations The applicable concurrent-use conditions
App and required routing rule Current support for your exact platform
Optional networking feature Its separate cost, eligibility and configuration limits
Total, renewal and seller The actual payment and refund/cancellation conditions

The PureVPN store contains inherited commercial offers. Confirm the exact tier and any selected extras with the seller. An offer card does not establish measured speed, successful access to a particular service or suitability for your network.

Evaluate the required function after installation

Follow the official instructions for the chosen device and inspect the settings relevant to your task. Keep a record of the app version and any routing exclusions. If the result differs from the documented behavior, describe the specific mismatch to support before changing several unrelated controls.

Use our connection-check guide for limited observations and the cancellation checklist for billing decisions. A successful connection check does not certify every privacy property, and cancelling renewal does not by itself establish that a refund has been requested.
