ZoogVPN is worth evaluating if you want to compare a limited free plan with a paid subscription, but first establish which allowance and app controls apply to your account. Its public documentation contains useful explanations of routing and connection features alongside conflicting plan descriptions. A sensible purchase depends on resolving the details that matter to your devices rather than accepting a general promise of unrestricted access.
VPNBlade Editorial checked current official material on 1 November 2026. This is a source-based review, not a speed, leak or streaming test. We did not install ZoogVPN, create an account, accept a trial, request a manual address, change a network setting or buy a subscription. The archived review’s claimed team tests, speed judgments, discount percentages and universal streaming results are not retained as evidence.
Start with the free plan’s practical limits
The current pricing comparison describes 10GB of monthly traffic and one device on the free plan. Its location count is five, while the official free-plan help article says three. That help article also describes paid plans as allowing unlimited simultaneous devices, whereas the pricing page lists ten. We cannot resolve these differences into one allowance for every account, platform and purchase channel.
Check the server choices and limits shown in your account before planning regular use. A data allowance can be useful for occasional browsing, but it is a different buying proposition from a paid plan with unlimited traffic. Do not treat the word “free” as evidence that every location, feature or streaming service is included. The free-VPN buying guide explains how to compare restrictions without assuming a free service is suitable for every task.
| Arrangement | Documented position | Check before relying on it |
|---|---|---|
| Ongoing free plan | Pricing lists 10GB monthly and one device; official location counts differ | Available locations, traffic reset and features in your account |
| Mobile premium trial | The FAQ describes a seven-day trial through an app-store purchase flow | Eligibility, payment requirement and cancellation deadline |
| Paid plan | Pricing and help disagree on simultaneous-device allowance | Merchant, exact plan and account entitlement |
The FAQ’s mobile trial requires payment details and converts to the chosen subscription unless cancelled. It is distinct from the ongoing free plan and from paying first and seeking a refund. Read the specific offer presented by your store; this review does not establish trial eligibility for an individual user or every platform.
Decide which device and purchase route you need
The ZoogVPN provider record and inherited offers retain the site’s current commercial information. Compare the full upfront amount with the subscription period, not just a monthly equivalent. A discounted offer from one merchant should not be assumed to carry the same refund process or account benefits as a direct purchase.
List the phones, computers and televisions that need to connect at the same time. ZoogVPN publishes native Windows and Android product pages, but a list of platform names is not a complete feature-parity matrix. Check the current installer or store requirements and the app build available to your device. Old setup links do not establish that an obsolete operating system remains secure or supported. Our household device guide helps turn that list into a buying decision.

Routing exceptions and failure protection do different jobs
ZoogVPN’s split-tunneling page describes excluding selected applications from the VPN. An excluded app uses the ordinary connection; the existence of a connected VPN elsewhere on the device does not place that app back inside its tunnel. Before changing an exclusion list, write down which task should use each connection path. Avoid assuming that the same rule type or feature combination exists in every app version.
This matters when interpreting a browser’s displayed address. If that browser is deliberately excluded, its ordinary address does not by itself describe the route used by another application. Our split-tunneling guide explains this distinction. We have not tested ZoogVPN’s rules or established a current platform-by-platform interaction matrix.
The provider’s kill-switch page lists Windows, macOS, Android and iOS apps and describes blocking access after an unexpected VPN drop until reconnection. That is the documented purpose, not a measured guarantee covering sleep, startup, manual disconnection or every app combination. Check the installed build’s settings and recovery behaviour. Automatic server selection, connection startup and a kill switch are separate decisions; one should not be substituted for another.
Shadow is an advertised connection option, not an access guarantee
ZoogVPN describes its Shadow protocol as combining obfuscated proxy technology with a VPN for restricted networks. It also documents a Manual API resolution IP supplied by support to help an app reach the service interface. That address is not the exit location selected for ordinary VPN traffic. We did not request an address, alter API settings or attempt to bypass a blocked resource.
These descriptions explain the feature’s intended role. They do not establish that it will work on every network, hide VPN use from every observer or satisfy the rules of a particular workplace. A provider’s dated country-status badge remains its own claim, rather than a test performed by VPNBlade. Use an approved connection method and get specific guidance if access is essential before making a long commitment.
Privacy claims need to be read with advertising disclosures
ZoogVPN’s privacy policy identifies a Greek company as controller and states that it does not keep online-activity, destination, timestamp, IP-address or session logs. It also describes account email, aggregated transfer totals, payment processing and website technologies. Those are different data categories; an activity-logging claim does not mean there is no account or operational information.
There is also an unresolved disclosure difference for free Android use. The privacy policy names Google AdMob for limited ads, while the terms name the cas.ai SDK and possible device-information collection. We cannot verify which SDK is present in a current installed build, or infer that both operate at the same time. Clarify the advertising model if that affects your choice. This review does not independently audit the app, network or data flows, and it does not adopt complete-anonymity language.
Pros and limitations for a prospective user
Reasons to shortlist ZoogVPN
- An ongoing free option provides a separate starting point from a converting premium trial.
- Official explanations distinguish application exclusions, interruption controls and Shadow’s intended role.
- Native Windows and Android routes can be evaluated against specific device requirements.
- Published privacy and refund documents give concrete questions to resolve before paying.
Reasons to compare another service
- Official pages disagree on some free and paid allowances.
- Android advertising disclosures need clarification for the current build.
- The refund policy has conditions beyond the short money-back headline.
- This review contains no measured reliability, speed, leak or streaming results.
Read the full refund conditions before a paid evaluation
The detailed policy describes seven days for the initial direct purchase, less than 10GB used, a plan lasting at least 30 days, no prior refund and an account that has not been suspended. It requires giving support an opportunity to resolve technical issues. It excludes subsequent payments, third-party purchases and post-trial app-store charges, and limits refundable payment methods to cards and PayPal. It also states a 5% administration fee despite using full-refund wording. Do not turn that combination into an unconditional risk-free promise.
The same policy calls for cancellation requests at least three days before expiry and warns that deleting an account does not automatically stop recurring payments. Follow the billing channel’s cancellation process, retain confirmation and treat repayment as a separate request. This review performed neither action. If the headline and detailed terms leave uncertainty about your order, obtain written clarification from the merchant before paying.
| Question | What to record | Why it changes the decision |
|---|---|---|
| Which allowance applies? | Free locations, traffic limit and paid device entitlement | Avoid choosing between contradictory pages without account confirmation |
| Which controls are available? | App build, exclusion list and interruption settings | Do not transfer assumptions between platforms |
| How is free use funded? | Current Android advertising disclosure | Separate traffic logging from advertising and account data |
| Can this order be refunded? | Merchant, duration, usage, fee and cancellation route | Check the detailed conditions before a paid evaluation |
Compare the inherited offers after these questions are answered. ZoogVPN is a candidate when its account limits and connection options match your needs; compare another provider when an essential condition remains unresolved. Our billing explanation helps put the full subscription charge in context.
